An attempt was made to start the engine with the transmission in
position h or k.

Select j or i to start.
Vehicles with automatic transmission: engine switches off while
the vehicle is in motion.

Select i to start.
Vehicles with automatic transmission: an attempt was made to
start the engine with the transmission in position i, without
applying the brake.

Depress the brake pedal.
Vehicles with automatic transmission: the driver's door is open
and the selector lever is in position k, i or h.
