Adding Coolant
When adding coolant,orr efilling the system,a minimum
solution of 50% r ecommended HOAT ethylene glycol
engine coolant(antifr eeze)and distilled watershould be
used.Use higher concentrations (not to exceed 70%) if
temperatur es below34°F ( 37°C)ar e anticipated.
Use only high purity watersuch asdistilled ordeionized
water when mixing the water/engine coolant solution.
The use oflowerquality waterwillr educe the amountof
corr osion pr otection in the engine cooling system.
Please note thatitis the owner's r esponsibility to main-
tain the pr oper level of pr otection against fr eezing ac-
cor ding to the temperatur es occurring in the ar ea wher e
the vehicle is operated.
NOTE: Mixing coolanttypeswilldecr ease the life ofthe
engine coolant and will r equir e mor e fr equent coolant
changes.

Neveradd coolantto the radiatorwhen the engine is
overheated.Do notloosen orremove pressure cap to
cool overheated engine.The coolant is under pres-
sure and severe scalding could result.
CoolantPressure Cap
The coolant pr essur e cap must be fully tightened to
pr event loss of coolant,and to insur e that coolant will
r eturn to the radiator fr om the coolantbottle.
Thepr essur ecap should beinspected and cleaned ifther e
is any accumulation of for eign material on the sealing
surfaces.
