Check theBattery TestIndicator(ifequipped).Ifa lightor
brightcolor ed dotisvisible in the indicator(ifequipped),
DO NOT jump-startthe battery.
Iftheindicator(ifequipped)isdark orshowsa gr een dot,
pr oceed as follows:
1. W eareyepr otection and r emoveallmetaljewelry such
as watch bands or bracelets which might make an
unintended electricalcontact.
2. Park the booster vehicle within cable r each butwith-
outletting thevehiclestouch.Settheparking brake,place
theautomatictransmission in PARK and turn theignition
OFF on both vehicles.
3. Turn OFF heater ,radio and allunnecessary electrical
loads.
4. Connect one end of a jumper cable to the positive
terminalofthe boosterbattery.Connectthe otherend of
the same cable to the positive terminalofthe dischar ged
battery.
W ARNING!
Do not permit vehicles to touch each other as this
could establish a ground connection and personal
injury could result.
5. Connectthe other cable,firstto the negative termina
of the booster battery and then to the engine of the
vehicle with the dischar ged battery.Make sur e you have
a good contacton the engine.
