Engine Air Cleaner Filter

Undernormaldriving conditions,r eplace the airfilterat
the intervals shown on Schedule "A".If,however ,you
drive the vehicle fr equently under dusty or sever e con-
ditions,the filter element should be inspected periodi-
cally and r eplaced ifnecessary atthe intervals shown on
Schedule "B".
W ARNING!
The air cleaner can provide a measure of protection
in the case ofengine backfire.Do notremove the air
cleanerunlesssuch removalisnecessary forrepairor
maintenance. Make sure that no one is near the
engine compartmentbefore starting the vehicle with
the aircleanerremoved.Failure to do so can resultin
serious personalinjury.
MAINTAINING YOUR VEHICLE

Engine FuelFilter

A plugged fuelfiltercan cause stalling,limitthe speed
which a vehicle can be driven or cause har d starting.
Should an excessive amount of dirt accumulate in the
fueltank,fr equentfilter r eplacementmay be necessary.

Catalytic Converter

The catalytic converter r equir es the use ofunleaded fue
only.Leaded gasoline willdestr oy the ef fectivenessofth
catalystas an emission contr oldevice.
Under normal operating conditions, the catalytic con
verter willnot r equir e maintenance.However ,it is im-
portant to keep the engine pr operly tuned to assur e
pr oper catalyst operation and pr event possible cataly
damage.
