To check the fluid:
1. Start the engine and let it
run until the fluid reaches
approximately 70°C-80°C.
2. Park the vehicle on a level
surface.
Keep the engine running.
Verify that the shift lever is in
P (Park).
3. With your foot on the brake
pedal, move the shift lever
through each gear range,
pausing for about 3 seconds in
each range. Then position the
shift lever in P (Park).
4. With the engine running
at idle speed, remove the
dipstick, wipe it clean and
reinsert it by pushing it down
all the way.
Section 4
5. Remove the dipstick again and
check the fluid level.
The level should be between
the MIN and MAX marks of
the hot area.
Also check to make sure the
fluid is not contaminated.
