Manual Transmission

If your vehicle is equipped with a
manual transmission, this is your
vehicle's shift pattern.
The clutch pedal must be fully
pressed in when shifting to ensure
the transmission is fully in gear.
In order to shift into R (Reverse),
you must first lift up the ring on
the shift lever (except 1.2 DOHC
Engine).

Your shift lever is in the Neutral
position when it is centered in the
shift pattern.
Use the Neutral position when you
start or idle your engine.
CAUTION
Do not skip gears when you
downshift or you could lose
control of the vehicle. You or
others could be injured.

NOTICE
Shift to Reverse only after your
vehicle is stopped. Shifting to
Reverse while your vehicle is
moving could damage your
transmission.
NOTICE
Do not rest your foot on the
clutch pedal while driving. This
will cause accelerated wear on
clutch components.
