TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem
Pain in the nose, the para-
nasal sinuses or the ears
Unpleasant feeling
because of the high pres-
sure
Dryness and irritation in
the nose and throat
Original symptoms of
sleep apnea come back
Irritated or dry eyes
Cold nose
Runny nose, sneezing
Reddening of the skin in
the mask area, skin swell-
ing
Feeling that the air is too
hot
No air fl ow
Very little air fl ow
Blower is running constantly
at maximum speed

Possible cause
Infl ammation of the para-
nasal sinuses or the
middle ear
Malaise with prescribed
high pressure values
Acclimatization phase
to the pressure not yet
completed
Air is too dry
Physical condition or
life circumstances have
changed
Air escapes between
mask and the skin of the
face
Room temperature too
low
Reaction to the air fl ow
Normal cold
Incorrect mask size
Headgear too tight
Allergic reaction
Heater close to the device
Device is defective
Soft start function has
been selected
Air channels are blocked
Leak in the device
Remedy
Stop the treatment and
contact your physician
If you suspect an error,
please ask your physician
for help
Try to relax. Use or vary
the soft start function
Device probably does
not have an air humidifi er.
Speak to your physician
about retrofi tting an
point 2 humidifi er
Inform your physician
Check the positioning of
the mask
Replace the mask if the
material has become
chapped
Increase room tempera-
ture. Warm up the tube
under the pillow
Either increase the humid-
ity in the room or the tem-
perature of the humidifi er
