    GUS Disinfection Soak Station™ Principle of Operation Your probe is suspended in the soaking container, preventing damage to the sensitive tip. Fumes are drawn into the unit away from the operator and into the filter. One of the containers is used for clean rinse water. This ensures that when the probe is removed from the unit for the final rinse, no high-level disinfectant will drip or off-gas.

    GUS Disinfection Soak Station™ Installation and Setup Please check to ensure your new system arrived with the following parts. Items Included Small packet containing: Two hollow wall anchors and screws for wall mounting the unit ‘High-Level Disinfectant’ warning label Note: it is an OSHA requirement that containers holding high- level disinfectants be clearly marked as such.

    GUS Disinfection Soak Station™ 7. For masonry walls use a suitable lead or plastic shield and bolt. These shields are not supplied. 8. Remove the cardboard from the bottom of the unit and the tape on the fuse holder, which is on the left side of the soak station.

    GUS Disinfection Soak Station™ Practice this two or three times before you put the disinfectant into the container. This is really easier than it sounds and will insure the safety of your probe. Step 3: Filling the Containers 1. Plug in the unit and switch it on using the ON/OFF switch located on left side of unit. The red indicator will light when the unit is operating 2.

Repair and Modification Do not modify or repair the unit without reviewing with CIVCO Medical Solutions; contact CIVCO Medical Solutions to purchase replacement filters and parts. Before attempting to perform routine maintenance on the unit, thoroughly review and understand this manual for complete familiarization with the unit and its operation.

    GUS Disinfection Soak Station™ Filter Life GUS® has a patented filter that, in normal everyday use, will have a six-month life. CIVCO Medical Solutions will automatically notify your facility 30 days prior to the replacement date and arrange for timely delivery of a replacement filter.

  • Page 10: Disposing Of Used High-Level Disinfectants

    Deactivation also protects the user from exposure to splashes and spills. CIVCO Medical Solutions manufactures Glute-Out®, a glycine-based neutralizer (part # 610-1099) which comes in a convenient single-use bottle. Glute-Out® is specifically for use with glutaraldehyde and OPA based disinfectants.
