7. Operation

7.1 Preparation
7.1.1 Adjusting the depth gauge 2
NOTE
By adjusting the depth gauge, the screw can be
driven flush with the surface or left projecting. Each
click-stop equals an adjustment of ± 0.25 mm (see
illustration).
7.1.1.1 To drive the screw deeper
Turn the depth gauge to the right.
7.1.1.2 To drive the screw less deeply
Turn the depth gauge to the left.
7.1.2 Removing the depth gauge 3

Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power
outlet.

Pull the depth gauge forward, away from the
power tool.
7.1.3 Changing insert tools
NOTE
The chuck features a standard (DIN 3126/ISO 1173)
1/4" hex. socket drive for insert tools (bit holder, bits,
etc.).
CAUTION
Wear protective gloves when changing insert tools
as the insert tools get hot during use.
The screwdriving bits are retained by a spring mech-
anism.
7.1.3.1 Changing bits 4

Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power
outlet.
2.
Pull the depth gauge away from the power tool,
releasing the click connection.
3.
Push the worn bit into the opening provided in
the depth gauge.
4.
Tilt the depth gauge so that it grips the bit.
5.
Pull the bit out in an upwards direction.
6.
Refit the depth gauge to the power tool.

7.1.3.2 Changing the bit holder 1
NOTE
The chuck features a standardized 1/4" hex. socket for
insert tools (bits, bit holder, bits for use with screw
magazines).
1.
Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power
outlet.
2.
Pull the depth gauge away from the power tool,
releasing the click connection.
The bit holder is then exposed and can be
changed.
3.
Grip the bare metal of the bit holder and pull
it forward while easing it away from the gear
housing.
The bit holder is released from the chuck.
7.1.4 Fitting / removing the belt hook

Fit the belt hook mounting lug into the ventilation
slot on the power tool.
2.
Slide the belt hook forward.
3.
Secure the belt hook with the retaining screw.
7.1.4.2 Removing the belt hook 6
1.
Release the belt hook by removing the screw.
2.
Slide the belt hook to the rear.
3.
Pull the belt hook upwards out of the ventilation
slots.
7.2 Operation
CAUTION
The power tool and the screwdriving operation gener-
ate noise. Wear ear protectors. Excessive noise may
damage the hearing.
7.2.1 Setting forward or reverse rotation 7
The forward / reverse switch is used to select the
direction of rotation of the drive spindle. An interlock
prevents operation of the switch while the motor is
running.
