NOTE
Observe the national laws and regulations with regard to transport and
traffic.
6.1

Check list

CAUTION
Before every ride, check the condition of the vehicle and the operational
safety with the aid of the following check list. Only use the vehicle in perfect
technical condition.
Before driving, check the following items:
– Perfect functioning of foot brake (resistance when actuating, foot brake lever at
the upper stop)
– Adequate brake fluid level (refer to section 7.6)
– Perfect functioning of the steering wheel (smooth operation, unhindered move-
ment, without excessive clearance, height adjustment engaged)
– Perfect functioning of the accelerator pedal (smooth operation, unhindered move-
ment, returns to idle position)
– Adequate coolant level (refer to section 7.2)
– Adequate engine oil level (refer to section 7.3)
– Possible loss of liquids (brake fluid, coolant, oil)
– Functioning and condition of the shock absorbers and wheel suspensions (free
movement, no escaping fluid) (refer to section 7.5)
– Identical adjustment of the shock absorbers of one axle
– Proper functioning of the lighting system (high beam, low beam, taillight, brake
light, indicators, number plate lighting)
– Perfect functioning of the 2WD/4WD selector switch (put switch in 2WD position)
– Cleanness of the air filter (refer to section 7.10)
– Perfect functioning of the status and warning displays in the gauge
– Adequate tyre tread depth and specified tyre pressure (refer to section 7.9.1)
– Perfect condition of the tyres (refer to section 7.9.2)
– Perfect condition of the safety belts (refer to section 7.13)
– Perfect condition of the roll-over protection (refer to section 7.15)
– Tightness of bonnet and seats
