TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom
The connected computer's display is
unstable or unfocused.
The SMART Board icon
doesn't
appear.
Touch interactivity is slow.
There's no sound when you play an
audio file.

Cause
You're using two connected video
cables.
The video connection is loose.
The video cable is of poor quality.

audio input isn't set correctly.
The connected computer is muted.
The connected computer's volume is
too low.

Solution
Replace the two cables with one longer
cable.
OR
Move the computer so that it's within a
single cable length of the board.
Secure the video cable to both your
computer and the board.
Replace the video cable with a better
quality video cable.
Replace the two cables with one longer

Move the computer so that it's within a

Connect a different computer to the
board. If this improves the image
quality, consider replacing the video
card in the original computer.
Download and install SMART Product
Drivers from
smarttech.com/downloads.
Start SMART Product Drivers following
the steps in the Help.
Close some open applications.
Upgrade the computer or replace it
with another computer that meets
system requirements.
Use a USB 2.0 cable and ensure it's
connected to the correct USB
receptacle (see page 19).
Ensure the connected computer's
playback device is set as the board (see
the connected computer's
documentation).
Ensure the board's audio input is set as
the computer's audio connector (see
page 48).
Turn off the mute setting.
Turn up the volume on the computer.
Turn off the mute setting using the front
control panel.
Turn up the volume using the front
control panel.
