Bad Condition of Engine and How to Deal with It
When the engine is in bad condition, deal with it properly according to the following list.
Phenomenon
Machine does not start
(smoothly).
After idling engine
stops.
Output is not
Enough.
Engine vibrates.
Engine runs out soon.
Fuel runs out soon.
Throttle lever does not
work well.
Engine stops suddenly. Fuel is lacking.
Color of exhaust is
black.
Black smoke comes
out of muffler and
output is lowered.
Blue smoke comes out
of muffler.
Rotation of engine is
unstable. (Does not
rise.)
Engine stops after a
while
Exhaust has pungent
smell.
Consult with the shop about *. You are charged a fee.

Cause
Throttle lever is not in "start" position.
Choke lever is not pulled.
Fuel is not running.
Air or water is mixed in fuel sending
system.
When it is cold, oil is too sticky and
engine does not rotate easily.
Ignition coil or unit does not work.
Ignition plug is in bad condition.
Ignition coil is damaged.
Cylinder piston ring is worn out.
Air cleaner is choked.
Quality of fuel is bad.
Choke is not completely open.
Cooling- or air cleaning system is
choked.
V belt is loosened and slips.
Throttle wire is not adjusted.
Load is too heavy.
Engine base is deteriorated or cracked.
Other reasons.
Engine oil is leaking
Cylinder piston ring is worn out.
Deterioration of fuel pipe causes fuel
leaking.
Air cleaner is choked.
Throttle wire is bent or rusty.
Throttle lever is deformed and does not
function well.
Fuel cock is closed.
Engine oil is lacking or deterioration of
oil causes overheats.
Quality of fuel is bad.
Too much engine oil is supplied.
Air cleaner element is choked.
Choke lever is not completely open.
Too much engine oil is supplied.
Cylinder piston ring is worn out.
Choke lever is not completely open.
Quality of fuel is bad.
Jet inside vaporizer is choked.
Ignition coil is damaged.
Fuel filter is choked.
Quality of fuel is bad.
Measure
Change throttle lever to "start".
When engine is cool, pull choke lever and
start.
Check fuel tank and remove sediments or
moisture.
Detach filter pot of fuel cock and remove
sediments in cup and dust sticking to filter.
Remove foreign substance, and check pulp
and fastening band. If they are damaged,
exchange or repair them.
Choose proper oil according to temperature.
Exchange ignition coil or unit.
Check gap between electrodes of plug and
adjust it.
Exchange plug.
Exchange ignition coil.
Exchange cylinder piston ring.
Clean air cleaner element.
Exchange it with better fuel.
Return choke lever to "open" position.
Clean around recoil cover and air cleaner.
Adjust tension of V belt.
Adjust throttle wire.
Reduce load.
Repair or exchange engine base.
-
After inspection and repair, refuel it.
Exchange cylinder piston ring.
Exchange fuel pipe.
Clean or exchange air cleaner.
Exchange throttles wire.
Exchange throttle lever.
Supply fuel.
Open fuel cock.
Refuel engine oil or exchange overheated
part.
Exchange it with better fuel.
Reduce oil to normal amount.
Clean air cleaner element.
Return choke lever completely to "open"
position.
Reduce oil to normal amount.
Exchange ring.
Return choke lever completely to "open "
position.
Exchange it with better fuel.
Dismantle and clean vaporizer.
Exchange ignition coil.
Clean fuel filter.
Exchange it with better fuel.
