2-1-2. Replacing the DC Fan (HDCU1000/1080)

If the fan is defective, the temperature inside HDCU1000/
1080 will rise. Touching the inside of the unit in this state
may cause a burn.
Replace the parts after turning off the power and cooling
the inside.
The fans that are used in the rear panel of HDCU1000/
1080 are recommended replacement parts.
The lifespan of these fans is about 30,000 hours, which
means that the fans can be used for about three and a half
years if the power is on all the time, so as a guideline the
fans should be replaced every three and a half years.
1. Turn off the main power and disconnect the plug from
the outlet.
2. Remove the switching regulator.
(Refer to Section 2-1-1.)
3. Remove the six screws and remove the cover.
4. Remove the harness from the wire clamp.
5. Disconnect the harness from the connector J19.
6. Remove the four screws and remove the fan portion.

7. Remove the three screws and remove the fan bracket.
8. Remove the DC fan and mesh from the fan cover.

9. Install the DC fan in the reverse order.

Install the DC fan in the direction shown in the
diagram above.
