We developed the Ramboline to be used in conjunction with the Ramborator. It is a dumb barge, or non-powered lighter, fitted with a radio-controlled bow flap which is actuated by a sailwinch. A bow thruster can be fitted for improved manoeuvrability.

12. Open up the bow thruster stubs (BSR). Slide the extension tubes 43 through the holes in the bow thruster box from the outside. Working inside the box, fit the extension tubes 43 on the bow thruster stubs. The glued joints between these parts must be watertight.

17. Assemble parts 35 and 36 to form the sailwinch fairing on the deck. Glue parts 37 and 38 together to form the fairing cover. When the sailwinch has been installed, secure the cover on the fairing using contact cement or similar. Glue parts 39 and 40 together, taking care to maintain the correct position of the screw-holes relative to the deck.

The support braces the servo when it is installed. Offer up the Ramborator to the Ramboline, and fit the coupling pin 69 (on the coupling shaft) between the brass brackets 25. Mark the position of the box on the deck of the Ramborator.

Fixogum or contact cement before fitting the retaining screws In its empty state the Ramboline draws about 1 cm, which means that the bow thruster is not then in the water; however, it is not required for steering the empty barge.

Matching springer tug RAMBORATOR Order No. 3048/00 Springer Tugs are self-propelled vessels employed on American rivers for transport duties and manoeuvring tasks; they are very simple and quick to construct. In model form they are also very simple, and since they can be built quickly, Springer Tug matches with these models rapidly developed in England and America.
