Luxx Luxx is a lightweight and agile electric glider which is not only fun to fly. The fun starts right at the building board. With the exception of stripwood all parts are laser-cut and allow for a rapid building process. A special jig, which is typical for all aero-naut models, is used to build up the one-piece wing and is a great aid, not only the less experienced modeller will appreciate.
  • Page 3 Select triangular stock R-32 und R-33, already cut to length (see parts list). Use a razor saw to make cuts as shown at intervals of approximately 8 mm. This will make the triangular stock easier to bend when you glue it to the fuselage side. R-13 Glue in R-32 flush with back of former R-5 and R-33 flush with back of R-13.
  • Page 4 Glue wing supports R-30 and R-31 (3 mm balsa) to the inside of fuselage. Glue reinforcements for wing dowel holes R-34 und R-35 (1 mm plywood) to the inside of the fuselage as well. R-35 R-30 R-34 R-31 Glue former R-12 to battery tray R-14. Make sure R-12 is perpendicular to R-14.
  • Page 5 Glue battery tray to former R-5, insert tabs on R-12 into notches in fuselage sides and secure with tape or clamps until glue has dried. Select R-10 or R-11 for motor installation. The difference between both formers is the orientation of the mounting holes. Select the former which suits your motor best and make sure there is enough room for the motor cables when you install the motor.
  • Page 6 Glue in doubler for magnet bracket R-45 to the inside of the canopy frame and glue locator R-25 to the front R-45 centre on the underside of the canopy frame. Use epoxy to glue magnet R-42 in place. R-25 R-1.1 Glue canopy side panels R-1.1 and R-2.1 to the canopy frame.
  • Page 7 Carefully sand underside of front fuselage and make sure triangular stock is flush with fuselage sides. Glue in place R-3 and secure with tape at former positions. In between formers use clamps to secure R-3. Glue in R-26 and R-27 as well as tail skid R-29.
  • Page 8 R-17 Glue R-17 in place at rear end of fuselage. The elevator pushrod housing should move freely in the notch in R-17. R-17 is temporarily used to support the fuselage sides at the rear and part of it will be cut off when the tailunit is installed. Glue R-4 in place and secure with tape at former positions.
  • Page 9 Fit canopy to fuselage and tack-glue with only a few drops of white glue. This will allow the canopy to be removed with the help of a modeller´s knife later on. Carefully sand top of canopy and make sure triangular stock is flush with fuselage sides. Then glue R-28 in place and secure with tape.
  • Page 10 Round off front of fuselage for a smooth transition to R-36 and the spinner you will use on your model. R-44 R-43 R-46 R-47 Use a razor saw to cut through R-28 and remove the canopy with the help of a sharp modeller´s knife. Cut through the upper part of canopy former R-22 and glue R-44 in place.
  • Page 11 Tailunit Protect your building board with cling film and place fin L-1 and rudder L-2 on the building board. Glue in place L-3 and L-4 and secure with pins. Glue L-5 to the lower edge of the rudder and L-10 to the front of fin L-1. L-10 Place horizontal stabilizer L-6 on the building board, glue both tips L-8 in place and secure with pins.

Glue control horns L-9 in place on rudder and elevator. Note that the horns face aft. Bevel off front edges of rudder and elevator to allow for sufficient control throw. Wing construction Fit together both parts of center wing jig and secure on styrofoam building board with tape. Protect wing jig with tape at wing spar and trailing edge positions (see arrows on jig).
  • Page 13 Use two ribs T-2 to position lower wing spar T-9 and lower trailing edge sheeting T-12. Then glue in place center wing ribs T-1. T-12 T-2A Glue all ribs T-2 in place on spar and trailing edge. Glue together one rib T-2 and one rib T-2A at each end of the centre wing and glue in place on spar and trailing edge.
  • Page 14 30.2 T-13 Fit centre wing sheeting T-13 in place in front of and behind wing spar, then glue in place ans secure with tape. Leave wing on building board until glue has completely dried. T-13 T-3A T-14 Protect jigs for outer wing panels with tape at wing spar and trailing edge positions (see arrows on jig).
  • Page 15 Remove wing panels from building boards, turn upside down and cut off tabs with modeller´s knife or razor saw. T-13 Fit center wing sheeting T-13 to underside of wing center and glue in place. Drill a small hole in lower wing sheeting to avoid a pressure build-up during covering and on days with hot weather conditons.
  • Page 16 Sand leading edges and wing tips to shape. Trim off spars and sheeting material at wing joints and sand flush with contact surfaces of ribs T-2A and T-3A. Glue outer wing panels to centre wing and secure with clamps. Carefully sand complete wing structure then remove any remaining dust before covering the wing. Finishing up Cover your new model with the covering material of your choice.
