6.1 Troubleshooting
6.1.1 Installation
PROBLEM
You cannot make/receive
calls via an IP network.
SIP phones do not operate.
The Control Box does not
operate properly.
The STATUS indicator on
the front of the cabinet
turns on red.

Whenever you try to
make calls using a SIP
phone, a busy tone is
heard.

A major system error
has occurred in the
Control Box.
PROBABLE CAUSE
•
The status of the port
that the SIP phone is
connected to is Out of
Service.
SOLUTION
•
Make sure that an 8-pin twisted pair cable
is used for connection.
•
Make sure that none of the CAT 5/CAT 5e
cables in use are over 100 m in length.
•
Make sure that a straight cable is used for
connection to a switching hub.
•
Make sure that all network devices in use
are switched on.
•
Register the corresponding SIP phone.
•
Replace the SIP phone.
•
Make sure that an 8-pin twisted pair cable
is used for connection.
•
Make sure that none of the CAT 5/CAT 5e
cables in use are over 100 m in length.
•
Make sure that a straight cable is used for
connection to a switching hub.
•
Make sure that all network devices in use
are switched on.
•
Restart the Control Box (refer to
"6.1.3 Restarting the Control Box").
•
Turn off the power switch, and then turn it
back on.
•
Turn off the power switch, and then
unplug the Control Box. After 5 minutes,
plug the Control Box back in, and turn the
power switch back on.
•
See the error log using Web Maintenance
Console (refer to "6.1.4 Troubleshooting
by Error Log").
SOLUTION
•
Change the port status from Out of
Service to In Service using Web
Maintenance Console.
