Introduction

This
document

focuses on how to configure the AudioCodes Mediant 1000 with the Nortel Software
Communication System (SCS). The Mediant 1000 is a modular gateway that can be
combined with various modules (FXS, FXO, Trunk or BRI).
The configuration of the Mediant 1000 is composed of the following stages:
1.
Physically install the gateway. Refer to "Installing the Device" (Section 2) in the
LTRT-83503 Mediant 1000 MEGACO-SIP Installation Manual. (Ver.5.4).
2.
Restore the gateway to its factory default settings.
3.
Assign it with the networking parameters (e.g., IP Address). Refer to Section 3.1
"Assigning an IP Address" in the LTRT-83503 Mediant 1000 MEGACO-SIP Installation
Manual (Ver. 5.4).
4.
Configure the gateway parameters and refer to the "Gateway Setup Notes" section.
5.
Configure the SCS with site-specific parameters and establish the first connection with
the gateway.
