If the guide wire has to be installed on a steep
slope, it is an advantage to lay the wire at an angle
to the slope. This makes it easier for the robotic
lawnmower to follow the guide wire on the slope.
Avoid laying the wire at sharp angles. This can
make it difficult for the robotic lawnmower to follow
the guide wire.
4. Run the guide wire up to the point on the boundary
wire where a loop to facilitate the connection of the
guide wire was previously added.
5. Cut the loop on the boundary wire using for instance a
pair of wire cutters.
6. Connect the guide wire to the boundary wire using a
coupler:
20
Maximum
distance
12"
At least 30 cm /
At least 2 m / 7 ft
135º
135º
90º
Insert the boundary wire in each of the holes in the
coupler. It does not matter which holes are used to
connect each wire. Insert the guide wire in the
centre hole in the coupler. Check that the wires are
fully inserted into the coupler so that the ends are
visible through the transparent area on the other
side of the coupler.
Use a polygrip to completely press down the
button on the coupler.
7. Staple down/bury the connector in the lawn.
CAUTION! The guide wire may not cross the
boundary wire, for instance a boundary wire that is
laid out to an island.
CAUTION! Test that the guide wire works using
Calibrate guide function (ROB R600) or Test
the
settings (ROB R1000) before using the robotic
lawnmower.
