3.1.5 Preparing a Win NT PC

Step
1.
Install and configure Dial-Up Networking
My Computer > Dial-Up Networking > Install (e.g. from CD)
RAS setup is executed. >
Call up the modem installation program >
and click on "Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list" >
From the standard modem types, select Standard 9600 bps Modem >
Then select a port, e.g. Com1 >
Specify the area code for the current location > and click Finish.
TCP/IP Network Protocol > OK
Restart PC

Add modem (if this has not already been completed)
My Computer > Control Panel >
Under Add Modems, activate "Don't detect my modem; I will select it from
a list". Click on Next >
(Standard Modem Types) >
Standard 9600 bps Modem > Next, select a Com port
3.
Configure Dial-Up Networking Connection to Hicom 150 E Office
My Computer > Dial-Up Networking > Telephone Book Entry (e.g. SLIP Hi-
com) > Continue > Continue > Continue Call No. (e.g. 1) > Continue, and
press Finish
Continue > Entry and Modem Properties
Under Entries:
Dial Using: (Standard 9600 bps Modem Com 1)
Under Server:
Type of Dial-Up Server> (SLIP: Internet)
Network protocols: (TCP/IP) >
TCP/IP settings: IP address: 1.0.0.2 > OK
Under Security:
Under Security: Select any authentication (including uncoded)

Install Assistant
5.
Under Options > Administratable HiPath HG 1500 cards > Administratable
HiPath HG 1500 cards, > New (Ins), enter a name and an IP address
