1 Preparing for installation
The MSM765 zl Mobility Controller is a Services zl Module-based WLAN controller which plugs
into switches such as the 5400 zl and 8212 zl. New switches must be prepared according to their
documentation.

USB Port: This port is used to attach a USB device, such as a flash drive.

4. HDD Activity and Network Activity LEDs

Meaning
Initialization was successful. Stays in this state when the
controller is booted to Service OS.
Controller is operational.
Error condition
This LED is off by default.
Flashing cycle (green or orange) is 400ms on – 400ms off.
At boot, the Module Status, HDD Status, and CF Status LEDs
are green for ~2s, then orange for ~2s, then back to green
for ~1s, and finally all are turned off.
On during boot only when the controller is inserted into a
chassis, soft reboots do not enable this LED. Used to locate
a specific module in an area full of chassis. Enabled by
using the following switch CLI command:
services <slot ID> locate <blink [duration]
| off | on [duration]>
This LED is off by default.
CF/HDD has initialized.
CF/HDD is not detected.
This LED is off by default.
