    The ES585.1 K-Line Interface Compact is an ETAS Compact Module for con- necting a PC to an ECU. The ES585.1 is connected to the ECU via the K-Line and to the PC via the parallel printer interface. This makes a powerful and universal connection to the PC possible.

    The P-Module provides a programming voltage for flash EPROMs. 2.3.4 Display Element There is a display element (LED) on the back of the ES585.1 which indicates the operating states of the ES585.1. The following table lists what this LED indicates.

    (see chapter 6 on page 17). The connection must not be longer than 10 m. Firmware Update The firmware of the ES585.1 can be updated by the user from the connected PC using a service software. The program HSP is required for the firmware update of the ES585.1.
