11.5 Flowcharts for diagnostics and troubleshooting

Meaning:
Shorted element in NMT
temperature
Check internal wiring
connectors of NMT.
Correct any abnormality.
Check element resistance.
If the element is short-
circuited, record all the
data of the malfunction at
G4 matrix, and return the
device to Endress+ Hauser.
Meaning:
NMT can not measure
liquid or gas average
temperature for some
reasons because all
elements are in gas or
liquid phase.
Meaning:
Open element in NMT
temperature sensor
Check connectors of
NMT. Recover the wiring
if necessary. Check
element resistance.
When connector is
broken, record the data of
the malfunction at G4
matrix,and return the
device to Endress+ Hauser.
Meaning:
The A/D signal output from
the detector unit, or input to
CPU, is abnormal.
