E-mail address book
Restricts operations related to the printer's e-mail address book.
FAX transmission
Restricts to send a fax from the printer. (Sending a fax from the computer is not restricted.)
FAX reception
Restricts to receive a fax.
Important
• If the printer receives a fax while Restrict is selected, Not available. An operation restriction is
set. is displayed on the LCD and the fax standby screen is displayed. In this case, you cannot
receive the faxes. Ask the administrator of the printer you are using to change the setting and have
the sender resend the faxes.
Directory
Restricts operations related to the printer's directory.
8. Press left Function button.
The operation restrictions you selected are enabled.
Note
• If you disable all restrictions, select Cancel operation restrictions in step 6 and press the OK button.
When the confirmation screen is displayed, select Yes and press the OK button.
To disable each operation restriction, select the item in step 7, press the OK button, select Do not
restrict, and then press the OK button.
Disabling Operation Restriction Temporarily
Specify the override password to disable operation restriction temporarily following the procedure below.
1. Make sure printer is turned on.
2. Select Setup on HOME screen.

3. Select Device settings and press OK button.
4. Select Operation restrictions and press OK button.
5. Enter administrator password.
6. Select Override password setting on displayed screen and press OK button.
