RESETTING PROCEDURE FROM EMERGENCY FIRMWARE MODE
OF DANTE MODULE
1. Outline
If firmware updating of Brooklyn2 failed, Brooklyn2 is
activated in the Emergency Firmware mode and that may
hinder proper testing.
2. Operation modes of Brooklyn2 and their
shifting
• Shown below are 3 types of working mode of Brooklyn2
and the operation relationship with DANTE Firmware
Update Manager when the mode shifts among them.

Normal Firmware
Fail to Update
Recovery Image
Emergency Firmware
• When Brooklyn2 operates properly, its operation mode
is Normal Firmware mode and #1 firmware updating of
Brooklyn2 is executed.
• When the update failed for some reason, Brooklyn2 may
fall into Emergency Firmware mode.
• As it is not possible to execute normal updating in
Emergency Firmware mode, shifting to Failsafe Recovery
mode (#3) is needed.
• With Failsafe Recovery executed, the mode shifts to
Recovery Image mode. In this mode, it is possible to write
the correct fi rmware by using the same updating method
as in the normal mode.
Make sure that the network setting is set as follows.
Update Dante Firmware #1
Update Dante Firmware #2
Failsafe Recovery #3
3. Checking if Brooklyn2 was started in
Emergency Firmware mode
Activate Dante Controller.
If the Dante device is indicated in red, it means that its
Brooklyn2 was started in Emergency Firmware mode.
4. Writing in Recovery Image mode
1)
Activate Dante Firmware Update Manager and press the
[Failsafe Recovery] button.
2)
Put a mark in the [Expanded Search] check box.
