Hardware configuration

The ASM 456 is integrated into the hardware configuration of the SIMATIC Manager, the TIA
Portal or other configuration software using the GSD file "SIEM8114.GSD". The file is
incorporated into HW Config of the SIMATIC Manager using the "Options > Install new GSD
..." function. The file is incorporated into the project view of the TIA Portal using the "Options
> Manage device description file" function. You can incorporate the communications module
in your project using the hardware catalog.

Depending on the connected reader, you need to use the appropriate module. With RF680R
and RF685R you need to use the module "Word 18 IN/OUT DB-V1", with all other Ident
devices, the module "Word:2 IN/OUT DP-V1".
