Switching Between the CFast Card Slots

The camera features two CFast card slots, CFast
slot A) and CFast
CFast card, you can switch between them as necessary.

Press the SLOT SEL. button.
• The access indicator of the selected CFast card slot will illuminate
in green. On the HOME screen and at the bottom left of the
monitoring screen, the CFast card currently selected is indicated
with a Ð mark next to the CFast card icon.
NOTES
• If both CFast card slots contain a CFast card and you open the cover of the selected slot, the camera will
automatically switch to the other slot.
• You cannot use the SLOT SEL. button to switch between CFast card slots while recording.
• You can also perform this function remotely using Browser Remote on a connected network device
(A 166, 170).

Relay Recording and Double Slot Recording

The camera features two convenient recording methods that can be used when both CFast card slots contain a
CFast card: double slot recording and relay recording (XF-AVC clips only).
Double slot recording: This function records the same clip simultaneously to both CFast cards, which is a
convenient way to make a backup copy of your recording while you record.
Relay recording: When the main recording format is set to [XF-AVC (CFast)], this function allows you to continue
recording on another CFast card without interruption if the CFast card you are using becomes full. Relay
recording is available from CFast card slot A to CFast card slot B, and vice versa.
To use double slot recording
1 Open the [Double Slot Rec] submenu.
[Rec/Media Setup] (3) > [Double/Relay Rec] > [Double Slot Rec]
2 Select [On] and then press SET.
• 4 appears on the HOME screen and at the bottom left of the monitoring screen.
To use relay recording
1 Open the [Relay Recording] submenu.
[Rec/Media Setup] (3) > [Double/Relay Rec] > [Relay Recording]
2 Select [On] and then press SET.
NOTES
• Relay recording is disabled (the camera will not switch to the other CFast card) when slow & fast motion
recording is activated.
• If a CFast card becomes full during double slot recording, recording on both cards will stop. On the other
hand, if an error occurs with one of the CFast cards, recording will continue on the other card.
• Double slot recording cannot be used together with relay recording or slow & fast motion recording.
