8. Additional Printer Operations

ZPrint evaluates the geometry of the part to determine if there
are enough materials to complete the build. ZPrint will alert you
in the Printer Status Dialog when any materials need replen-
ishing. You cannot start the build until you add the needed mate-
rials.
At the time of printing of this manual, the only materials
approved for use with the ZPrinter 850 were zp150 powder, zb61
binder, and zc6 cleaning solution. 3D Systems is always evaluat-
ing new materials; for the latest information check our 3DS Cen-
tral user web site at 3dscentral.3dsystems.com.
8.1 Add Powder
If there is not enough powder in the Feeder, ZPrint displays
POWDER
in the Printer Status dialog.
Important: Do not add powder to the Feeder unless you are
prompted to in the ZPrint Printer Status dialog.
To add powder, follow the steps below.

Before unsealing the powder
canister, turn it upside down
and shake to loosen the powder
inside.
2.
Check the expiration date.

Open the top cover on the
ZPrinter 850 and place the
powder canister in the build
bed.
4.
Remove the gray sealing cap
from the top of the canister.
5.
Insert the vacuum hose into the hose fitting located on top
of the canister.

TIP: To check that powder is getting into the Feeder, look at the
Debris Separator. You will see powder moving through the win-
dow when the vacuum is running.
