Function
The model of the 58261 construction
train equipment car comes from the
factory equipped with a sound effec-
ts circuit. Please note the following
points when using this car:
• This sound effects circuit is only
intended for operation with the
Control Unit, Mobile Station, or
Central Station. It cannot be ope-
rated with another operating
system.
• This sound effects circuit offers
different sounds of work that can
be selected and/or visual effects.
A total of 11 different work status
levels can be selected one after
the other with a function button on
the locomotive controller. The
sound of a warning horn can be
activated from a separate button.
• There are 2 LED's on the circuit
board that blink, depending on
which work sounds have been tur-
ned on. We therefore recommend
that you leave at least one of the
doors on the sides of the car open
so that you can enjoy this effect.
• The sound effects chosen for this
sound effects circuit are those that
that you would ordinarily hear from
a car standing still. A car standing
still is therefore the usual operating
status for this product. If the sound
effects are turned on when the car
is in motion, the electronic circuit
is reset to its initial state if there is
an interruption of current on the
part of the layout where the car is
located (example: signal set at
"stop"). This also holds true when
the emergency stop is activated
("Stop" button activated on a loco-
motive controller). In this instance,
the electronic circuit is reset to its
initial state.
• Another sound effect or work con-
dition cannot be selected until the
sound effects circuit is totally silent
(f2 and f3 off). Since the typical
shut-off sequence is still partially
reproduced with individual work
condition sound effects after a
work condition sound effect has
been turned off, another work
sound effect cannot be selected
until this shutting-off sound has
ceased.
• The sound of a warning horn
(example: to warn of an approa-
ching train) cannot be turned on
with button f3 until the work sound
effect activated by button f2 is tur-
ned off.
• This sound effects circuit can be
set for 80 different Digital/Systems
addresses.
• The volume from the sound effects
circuit can be adjusted with a
potentiometer.
