This appliancemustbe grounded.
In the eventof an electricalshort
ircuit,groundingreducesthe risk
of electricshockbyprovidingan
escapewirefor theelectriccurrent.
This applianceis equippedwitha
powercordhavinga grounding
wire witha groundingplug.The
plugmustbe pluggedintoan outlet
thatis properlyinstalledand
grounded.(Fig. 1)

hardwarestores.

Thelargerslotin theadaptermust
be alignedwiththelargerslotin the
wallreceptacleto provideproper
polarityin the connectionof the
powercord.
Caution:Attachingthe adapter
groundterminalto the wall
receptaclecoverscrelvdoesnot
groundthe applianceunlessthe
coverscrewis metal,andnot
insulated,andthe wallreceptacle
is
groundedthroughthehouse
wiring.Youshouldhavethe circuit
checkedby a qualifiedelectrician
to makesurethe receptacleis
properlygrounded.
Whendisconnecting thepower
cord fromthe adapter,alwayshold
the adapterwithonehand.If this
is notdone,the adapterground
terminalis very likelyto break with
repeateduse. Shouldthishappen,
DO NOTUSEthe applianceuntil
a propergroundhas againbeen
established.

UseoflktensionCords
Becauseofpotentialsafetyhazards
undercertainconditions, w estrongly
recommendagainstthe useof an
extensioncord. However, i f it is
necessaryto usean extensioncord,
useonlya 3-wireextensioncord
thathas a 3-bladegroundingplug,
anda 3-slotreceptaclethatwill
acceptthe plugon the appliance.
Themarkedratingof the extension
cord shallbe equalto or greater
thanthe electricalratingofthe
appliance(15amperes).
If youdo use an extensioncord
withyourmicrowave oven~ the
interiorlightmayflickerandthe
blowersoundmayvarywhenoven
is in use. Cooktimesmaybe longer
as well.
