6. Verify that the WWN cards are correctly connected by checking the LEDs on
the WWN cards to see if they reflect the status of the components.
Note: The LEDs may take up to two minutes after WWN card installation to
begin functioning.
7. Install the WWN bezel. Orient the bezel on the chassis (see Figure 38 on page
107). Insert and tighten the two screws.
8. Verify the new card settings by running the following commands and
comparing the output with the original supportsave data.
v licenseIdShow
v ipAddrShow
v switchName
v chassisName
v wwnCardShow ipdata
v chassisShow (look at the WWN and chassis information at the bottom)
v ficonShow switchrnid
9. Run the switchcfgpersistentenable command to persistently enable each
logical switch that was disabled before removing the WWN cards.
switch:FID128:root> switchcfgpersistentenable
Switch's persistent state set to 'enabled'
10. Pack the faulty WWN cards in the packaging provided with the new cards for
return to IBM for failure analysis, following local procedures.
Use the instructions in this section to remove and replace transceivers.
