TEST FOR LEAKS

Perform a leak test:
• Before lighting the appliance for the
first time
• Whenever the gas cylinder is chan-
ged or a gas component is replaced.
• At least once a year, preferably at
the beginning of the season
The leak test must be carried out outdoors,
in a well-ventilated area nowhere close to
naked flames, heat sources or sparks. Do
not smoke! Use a 50/50 mixture of liquid
soap and water or leak spray for the test.
WARNING
Do not look for gas leaks with a lighter or
match! Ensure that there are no sparks
or naked flames in the vicinity when you
check for leaks. Sparks or naked flames
can cause a fire or explosion resulting in
serious or fatal injuries and damage to
property.
All the parts which are connected in the
factory are carefully checked for gas leaks.
The burners have been tested. However,
as a safety measure you must check all the
connections for leaks before use.
Do not light the burners when checking for
leaks.
Method:
• Prepare some soapy water
• Once the full gas cylinder has been
connected to the appliance and
all the control knobs are turned to
'OFF', slowly open the gas cylinder
one turn by turning to the right
• Check for leaks by applying soapy
water to the connections. Sealing
should be checked in the following
places:
1. The welds on the cylinder
2. The connection with the appliance
3. The connection between the hose and
the cylinder + The connection between
the regulator and the cylinder
4. The gas hose between the appliance and
the cylinder
• Check that no soap bubbles appear.
If you can see soap bubbles, and
the soap bubbles are growing larger,
there is a gas leak.
NOK
OK
If there is a leak, turn off the gas and tigh-
ten the connection. Open the gas valve and
check the connection again with the soapy
water. If the leak has not been repaired,
contact a distributor in your area. DO NOT
USE THE APPLIANCE. You can find a list
of distributors on our web site. Log in on

• Once you have checked for leaks,
turn off the gas, rinse the connecti-
ons with water and dry to prevent the
formation of rust.
• Turn the cylinder knob to the left to
close the cylinder.
Note: the regulator may be different
from the one illustrated here.
WARNING: You must carry out these
leak tests even if your appliance is set
up by the dealer or the shop.

REPLACING THE CYLINDER

When changing the gas cylinder, ensure
that the knobs on the barbecue are in the
OFF position and that the gas cylinder is
closed. Do not replace the gas cylinder
close to anything that may produce a flame
or spark.
TRANSPORT AND STORAGE OF THE
GAS CYLINDER
Although perfectly safe when handled cor-
rectly, lack of caution may result in fire and/
or explosion.
To minimise the risks:
• Never store the cylinder in a buil-
ding, garage or other enclosed area,
but always in a well-ventilated area
• Never store the cylinder in the
vicinity of another gas operated ap-
pliance, or in a very warm area, such
as a car or boat
• Always keep the cylinder out of
reach for children
• Always transport and store the cylin-
der in an upright position
• Do not smoke near the gas cylinder.
