9 Troubleshooting
Problem
No display
No sound
The caller is too quiet.
The handset ring tone
is too quiet.
A number cannot be
dialled.
The
symbol is
flashing
The base station or
handset does not ring
A call cannot be
forwarded to an
extension.

Possible cause
The batteries are not
charged
The telephone cable
is not connected
correctly.
The line is engaged
by a different handset
The dialling mode is
incorrectly set.
Handset is out of
range
The base station has
no power
The handset is not
registered to the base
station
The ring tone volume
is off or too low
The flash time is too
short
Solution
Check that both
batteries have been
inserted correctly
Charge the batteries
Check the cable
connection.
Wait until the other
handset hangs up
Adjust the volume
during the call using
the volume key
Adjust the ring tone
volume
See „5.2 Setting the
dialling mode" to set
the correct dialling
mode
Move the handset
within range of the
base station.
Check the mains
adapter and cable.
Register the handset to
the base
Adjust the ring tone
volume
Set the device to a long
flash time
