This section describes how to install the device driver. You must have either
downloaded an updated Windows NT device driver from the SSA World Wide Web
Support page, or have the diskette labeled Windows NT Device Drivers that is provided
with your adapter.
The following steps describe how to install the device driver:
1. Select Start, select Settings, select Control Panel, double click on SCSI
2. Select the Drivers tab, and click Add
3. When prompted, click Have Disk and insert the Windows NT device drivers

a. Look for the device driver on the system and exit if not found.
b. Select the type of installation, either Automatic or Custom. If installing for the
first time, you should select Custom.
c. Look for existing software components.
d. Inform you of what needs to be updated and what is at the latest level. You can
choose to install any component even if you have the latest level, or wish to
downgrade.
e. Update the host software as necessary.
f. Launch Adobe Acrobat Reader Setup (if required).
Note: Setup must stop running services before updating the program files; you will
be prompted if setup needs to stop a service. If the subsequent file copy
fails, the service may have failed to stop. Follow the instructions in "Checking
the SSA Services Status" on page 17, but click Stop instead of Start and
re-run setup.
