Cleaning the printhead lenses

Clean the printhead lenses when you encounter print quality problems.
Turn the printer off, and disconnect the power cord.

Open the upper front door, and then open the lower front door.

Warning: Potential Damage—To avoid overexposing the photoconductors, do not leave the front doors
open for more than 10 minutes.
3. Remove all four toner cartridges. Do not remove the photoconductors for this procedure.
Locate the four printhead lenses.

5. Clean the lenses using a can of compressed air.
Warning: Potential Damage—Do not touch the printhead lenses.
Reinstall the four toner cartridges.

7. Close the lower front door, and then close the upper front door.

Spare ADF supplies

The printer comes with a spare separator pad and flatbed air filter, located under the scanner. To access the
spare parts, remove the slotted screw.
Note: It is recommended that the ADF area and parts be cleaned periodically.
