Error Codes

Error codes are shown on the main display for approx. 2 seconds, after which the program
automatically returns to the weighing mode.

Cause
No AC power is available
The AC adapter is not
plugged in
Automatic shutoff is configured
Non-rechargeable/
rechargeable
batteries are drained
The load exceeds
the balance capacity
Something is touching
the weighing pan
Data output is not compatible
with the input format
Calibration/adjustment
condition not met, e.g.:
– balance not zeroed
– balance is loaded
The balance was zeroed
outside the zero range
Taring not possible
when the gross value ≤ zero
The weight is too light
or there is no sample
on the weighing pan
The interface port
for printer output is blocked
Unstable ambient
conditions (too much
vibration or the balance)
is exposed to a draft
A foreign object is caught
between the weighing pan
and the balance frame
The balance was not
calibrated/adjusted; the
balance was not
zeroed before weighing
Solution
Check the AC power supply
Plug the AC adapter
into an electrical outlet
Turn on the balance
Replace or recharge batteries
using external charger
Unload the weighing pan
Move the object that is touching
the weighing pan away
Change the setting to the compatible
one in the menu
Calibrate/adjust only when zero
is displayed
Press ( to zero balance display
Unload balance
Only zero the balance when in the
allowable zero range of ± 2% of
the maximum capacity
Press (
to zero the balance
Increase the reference
sample quantity
Set code to reset menu or contact
your local KERN Service Center
Set up the balance in
a different area or
change the menu setting
to adapt the balance
Remove the foreign
object
Calibrate/adjust the balance;
zero before weighing
