Logging–in a CTI application (e.g. Com4Tel)
To prevent any PC from gaining access to an IP telephone and there running up charges, a
login procedure has been implemented. In this procedure, the MAC address of the PC is
stored as a unique key in the IP telephone. A PC, which has been registered once, will be
able to communicate normally with the IP telephone from now on.
The reference MAC address in the IP telephone is initialized during the first commissioning
with 00–00–00–00–00–00. For this reason, no PC can work with the IP telephone without
having registered. This reference MAC address is a part of the customer data and is re-
tained even after the IP telephone has been reset.
