Connecting the water supply

 The water in the dishwasher is NOT safe to drink!
Do not reuse removable hose attachments. Use the hose sets sup-
plied with this dishwasher.
– The dishwasher's connection to the water supply system must be
in compliance with local code.
– The water quality should satisfy local drinking water requirements.
A high iron content can lead to external rust deposits on the wash
load and the dishwasher itself. A chloride concentration greater
than 100 mg/l in the process water significantly increases the risk of
corrosion for the wash load.
– In certain regions (e.g. mountainous areas), the typical water com-
position can cause precipitates to form, which in turn requires the
use of softened water for the dishwasher.
– A device for preventing the return flow of water is not necessary, as
this dishwasher conforms to the applicable standards for the pro-
tection of drinking water.
– The water pressure (flow pressure) must be equal to an overpres-
sure of at least 29 psi / 200 kPa (100 kPa = 1 bar). If the water pres-
sure (flow pressure) is less than 29 psi / 200 kPa, the water intake
time will automatically be extended. The maximum allowable static
pressure is 145 psi / 1000 kPa (overpressure). If the water pressure
lies outside the range of 29 psi - 145 psi (200 kPa - 1000 kPa),
please contact Miele Service for instructions on how to proceed.
– The standard version of this dishwasher is intended for connection
to the cold (blue marking) and hot (red marking) water supply with a
temperature of up to 149 °F (65 °C). Connect the intake hoses to
the shutoff valves for the cold and hot water supply.
– If no hot water supply is available, the intake hose with the red
marking must also be connected to the cold water supply.
– Connect the intake hose for the steam condenser (without a water
protection device) to a cold water shutoff valve.
– An on-site shutoff valve with a 3/4" screw connection is required to
connect the dishwasher to the water supply. The valve should be
easily accessible, since the water supply should be shut off when-
ever the dishwasher is not in use.
– The intake hose is an approx. 67" (1.7-m) long DN 10 pressure hose
with a 3/4" screw connection. A 59" (1.5 m) flexible metal hose (test
pressure: 140 bar) is available as an extension. Do not remove the
filter from the screw connection.
