Coolant-temperature Gauge and
Indicator Light
The coolant-temperature gauge displays the coolant
temperature in the engine. The gauge operates only when the
ignition switch is in On position (Figure 6). The indicator
light will illuminate red and blink if the engine is overheating.
Charge Indicator
The charge indicator illuminates when the battery is being
discharged. If the light illuminates during operation, stop the
vehicle, turn off the engine and check for possible causes,
such as the alternator belt (Figure 6).
Important: If the alternator belt is loose or broken,
do not operate the vehicle until adjustment or repair is
complete. Failure to observe this precaution may result
in damage to the engine.
Check the operation of warning lights as follows:
Apply the parking brake.
Turn the ignition key to the On/Preheat position, but do
not start the engine. The coolant temperature, charge
indicator, and oil pressure lights should glow. If any light
does not function, either a bulb is burned out or there is a
malfunction in the system which must be repaired.

Fuel Gauge

The fuel gauge shows the amount of fuel in the tank. The
fuel gauge operates only when the ignition switch is in the
On/Preheat position (Figure 6). A steady-red light in the fuel
gauge indicates low fuel level and blinking-red light indicates
near empty.

Horn Button

Press the horn button to sound the horn (Figure 6).
Tachometer
The tachometer displays the speed of the engine, and is
measured in revolutions per minute (rpm); refer to Figure 6
& Figure 7. The white triangle on the face of the tachometer
indicates the desired rpm for PTO operation (Figure 7).
