Leveling the Mower Deck

Preparing the Machine
1. Position the machine on a flat surface.
2. Disengage the PTO, move the motion-control levers to
the N -
EUTRAL LOCK
3. Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
4. Check the tire pressure of both drive tires; refer to
Checking the Tire Pressure (page
5. Lower the mower deck to the 76 mm (3 inch)
height-of-cut position.
Note: The actual cutting height will not be adjusted
until the deck has been leveled; refer to
Height of Cut (page
6. Check the distance between the swivels, measuring at
the center of the swivels (center-to-center length) on
each threaded rod
Note: Ensure that the length is 49.5 cm (19-1/2
inches) for 91 cm (36 inch) mower decks and 43.7 cm
(17-3/16 inches) for 102 cm (40 inch) mower decks.
7. Loosen the jam nuts at the front swivel.
8. Using the jam nuts, adjust the length of the threaded
rod to achieve the correct distance.
9. Tighten the jam nuts at the front swivel.

10. Check the distance between the yoke and the deck

Note: This distance needs to be 11 mm (7/16 inch) as

12. Loosen the jam nut and adjust the adjustment bolt to
achieve the correct distance as shown in
