19. AF Laser Optical Axis Adjustment

Align the laser optical axis with the center of the LCD screen.
Subject Paper which reflection rate is 18%
(1.0m from the front of the lens)(Note1)

(The distance between the opposite
surfaces = 0.7mm) (Note4)
Specified Value The part A, part B and part C of the
hologram pattern must protrude from the
rectangle. And the part A and the part C
must be about equal. (Fig. 5-1-17)
Note1: The flash (Xenon tube) is driven by a high voltage DC power
supply (Approx. 300V). There is a danger of electric shock when
the flash unit (ST1850) is handled by hand.
Note2: Background paper (J-250-130-A). Perform this adjustment in the
dark room or use a dark box.
Note3: Any light other than the laser light should not light up the plate.

Note5: This adjustment should be carried out upon completion of the
following adjustments.

AF laser output adjustment

Switch setting:
1) POWER .................................................................. CAMERA
2) FLASH ......................................................................... OPEN
(Press FLASH ( ) button and set to the forced flash mode ( ),
and press PHOTO button.)
3) NIGHT SHOT .................................................................. OFF

Note6: Don't turn the laser optical axis adjustment screw unnecessarily.

Adjust the laser optical axis
adjustment screw so that the part
A and the part C of the hologram
pattern is equal. (Note6)

part C of the hologram pattern
protrude from the rectangle.
