Pause

The Pause feature enters a 1.5-second delay in a dialing sequence on an
external line. This is often required for signaling remote devices, such as
answering machines, or when reaching through to PBX features or host
systems.
You can program more than one pause in an external autodial or speed dial
sequence.
The Pause symbol ( ) uses one of the 24 spaces in a dialing sequence.

Long Tones

The Long Tones feature allows you to control the length of a tone so that
you can signal devices such as fax or answering machines which require
tones longer than the standard 120 milliseconds.

While on a call, press

Press the dialpad buttons to produce the appropriate tones. Each tone
sounds for as long as you hold down the button.
Long tones can be used on any call except a conference call. You can use
internal lines of the Norstar system to activate a device connected to an
analog terminal adapter (ATA) in another area of your office, or external
lines to access devices outside the Norstar system.
