„ During print authentication, authenticate using a computer name or
host login user name
In the print mode with user authentication, generally, the Printer is operated with
your allotted authentication code specified with the printer driver.
For print mode authentication, besides authenticated by the printer driver, a user is
authenticated with a computer name or host login user name.
This authentication method enables the following operations.
- Print authentication using a computer other than a personal computer.
- No authentication code with the printer driver is required.
Note
To use this function, print data must be sent with a LPR connection.

To authenticate with a computer name, each user must have a dedicated

computer.
To authenticate with a login user name, each user must have a unique login
‹
user name.
„ High-security job operations are possible
With user authentication, the operation panel and the Web function display only
the jobs of the user currently logged in on:
- Job operation screen (for print, copy, submit and scan);
- Submission box screen; and
- PDtF box screen.
So your job cannot be monitored nor operated by other users.
