1. Turn off the MCA-C5.
2. Remove the cover of the MCA-C5.
3. Remove the Digital I/O PCB. Leave all internal cables attached.
4. Connect a Russound Advanced Programming cable from Comm1 of you PC
to J11 of the Digital I/O PCB. If a DB9 switch is used, like the one used in the
"Initial Test Setup" section, select the MCA-C5 position of the DB9 Switch and
plug the Advanced Programming cable to the serial cable for the MCA-C5.
Note: J11 pin 4 is cut to accommodate the keyed programming cable.
J11 Pin 1 is the pad with the square pin.
5. Connect a two pin jumper to J12 pins 3 and 4 on the Digital I/O PCB.
Pin 1 has the square pad on the pcb.
6. Turn on the MCA-C5.
7. Open FDT 4.01.
8. Click "File" then "Open Workspace".
Select and Open the "MCA-C5 Tuner".
Select and Open the "MCA-C5 Tuner.AWS" file.
Note: If the MCA-C5 Tuner is in the left hand window
(Projects pane) you can continue to the next step.
9. Click "File" then "Open Data File" and navigate to the current version of the
MCA-C5 Tuner file named "Tuner_C5*.bin" with combined bootloader.
Note: You can store the Tuner_C5*.bin file in the
"MCA-C5 Tuner" folder for ease of use.
10. The FDT Dialog will display the following:
