Remove and Replace the Lamp Door Latch

The lamp door latch (321-0188-xx) fastens to the inside of the top case. The latch is comprised of three
pieces, a hinged latch, a spring and a retainer. The lamp door latch is part of a new top case but may be
ordered separately.
1 Remove the top case (see page 13).
2 On the inside of the top case, remove the M3x8 self-tapping Phillips screw that fastens the lamp
door latch retainer to the top case. Press on the retainer while you loosen the screw. Then lift the
latch and spring out of the top case.
Assembly Notes

When you replace the latch you need to hold the spring down with a bladed screwdriver while you
place the retainer over the spring and latch.
