5. Select the HP 6G SAS Blade Switch for the bay number you are resetting. The list of available
tasks displays in the main window.
6. Select Reset Hardware. The Reset Hardware window appears. In the Scope of Reset field,
you can choose to either reset the local switch or both switches in the pair (for example, the
switches in bays 5 and 6 are a pair and the switches in bays 7 and 8 are a pair).
7. Select the local switch only option in the Scope of Reset field and click OK. A dialog box with
the following message appears:
You are about to reset the SAS switch. You will need to restart your
browser in order to regain access to this utility.
8. Click OK to continue. Then, close the window displaying the Virtual SAS Manager GUI. The
OA GUI remains open in a separate window.
9. Rebooting the SAS switch takes several minutes to complete. After approximately 7 minutes,
you can go back into the Virtual SAS Manager GUI. To do so, locate the switch you just
rebooted in the OA GUI and select Management Console. The Virtual SAS Manager user
interface displays.
10. Verify that the switch is operating correctly. (While the switch is rebooting, a yellow icon
displays next to the switch name in the left navigation panel and on the images of the switch
in the main panel.)
