Starting the engine

NOTE: Before starting the mower check the oil and fuel levels. The motor
MUST be filled with 600ml of SAE 10W/30 BEFORE starting. Fresh unleaded
fuel must be used in this unit. Do NOT use Ethanol based fuels. Do NOT mix
oil with fuel.
Warranty will be void if the engine becomes faulty due to insufficient oil and
fuel levels.
For starting, ensure the mower is set to the height setting so the blades are
not resting deep into the grass.
NOTE: The engine of this lawn mower is a Briggs and Stratton, Readystart®,
Model 675E. It features a temperature controlled automatic choke. It does
not have a manual choke or a primer.
NOTE: When starting the engine, and using the motor throttle control (5)
when standing behind the mower, motor throttle control (5) is on the right
hand side.

1. Move the motor throttle
control (5) to the "START "
position. (Fig W)
2. Firmly hold the recoil starter
(23) & pull slowly until
resistance is felt, then pull
rapidly. (Fig X)
3. Once the lawn mower has
started and warmed up
(approximately 20-30 seconds)
move the throttle control (5) to
the "RUN" position to increase
the engine speed. (Fig Y)
