How to RIP a single track continued
2. Turn the Jog Wheel so
CDR FUNCTIONS is
displayed,
then press and release
the Jog Wheel so
NEW CD PROJECT
is displayed.
3. Turn the Jog Wheel so
RIP CD is displayed.
4. Press and release the
Jog Wheel.
RIP: ENTIRE CD is displayed.
5. Turn the Jog Wheel
so RIP: TRACK is
displayed.
6. Press and release the
Jog Wheel. INSERT
ORIG CD is displayed.
7. Insert your CD.
"track01.xxx" is dis-
played.
8. Turn the Jog Wheel so
the track you want to
RIP is displayed, then
press and release the
Jog Wheel.
9. REC FORMAT: is
displayed. Turn the
Jog Wheel to toggle
between MP3 and PCM. Then push and release the
Jog Wheel.
NOTE:
The CDR420 cannot convert MP3 fi les to PCM.
10. CHANNEL: is dis-
played. This display
shows the CHANNEL
of the track to be ripped. This setting cannot be
changed. It is simply displayed as a reference.

11. If REC FORMAT
selected in step 9 was
MP3, KBPS is dis-
played. If REC FORMAT selected in step 9 was
PCM, skip to step 12.
If Stereo turn the Jog Wheel to tab through 64,
80, 128, 160, 256, and 320. If Mono turn the Jog
Wheel to tab through 32, 40, 64, 80, 128, and 160.
Then press and release the Jog Wheel.
12. RENAME FOLDER is
displayed.
Press and release the Jog Wheel to begin renaming
the folder*, or turn the Jog Wheel to skip renam-
ing the folder.
*Only the folder name (folder stored within the RIPPED CD folder
on the CDR420 HD) can be renamed at this time. The track will be
in the folder and named RIPPED/(folder name from this step)/
trackyy.xxx (yy = track number from step 8). You can use EDIT
MENU / EDIT TAGS / TRACK NAME to rename the track later.
The date and time (name) of the folder will be dis-
played with the fi rst character fl ashing**. Turn the
Jog Wheel to change the fl ashing character. Press
and release the Jog Wheel to accept the displayed
character and switch to the next character. Click
the Jog Wheel when the name is complete.
**A connected keyboard, see page 62, lets you type in the folder
name.
13. START RIPPING is
displayed.
Press and release the Jog Wheel.
ARE YOU SURE: N is
displayed.
14. Turn the Jog Wheel so Y is displayed, then press
and release the Jog Wheel.
As the track is ripped
to the CDR420 HD
progress is displayed
as a percentage of the track and a graphic of the
percentage of the track.
To cancel ripping in progress, press and release the
Stop button . The CDR420 returns to Idle Mode.
When done ripping the CDR420 returns to Idle
Mode.
