Marantz CDR 510 CD Recorder Quick Operating Instructions

TO RECORD A CD LIVE:

1) Press the POWER button to turn on the CD recorder.
2) Once it has initialized it should display "ANALOG" in the bottom left corner of the display. If it
doesn't, press and release the INPUT button until it does.
3) Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the LEFT side drive to open the drawer.
4) Press the CDR button to set the display to CDR.
5) Insert a blank CD in the drawer and press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the drawer.
6) Press the REC MODE button 6 times until the display says "REC EXT MAN" which stands for
Record External Manual.
7) Adjust the REC LEVEL dial while someone speaks into the microphone until you see a good
recording level on the L/R METER (just below the red).
NOTE: Steps 2, 6 & 7 only need to be done the first time, or if someone changes the settings. The
unit remembers this information.
7) When you are ready to start recording, press the Red RECORD button.
8) If you want to pause the recording, press the Green PAUSE button, then press RECORD to start.
9) When you are finished recording, press the White STOP button.
10) Once you have finished recording as much as you want on this CD, you need to Finalize it by
pressing the FINAL button immediately followed by pressing the RECORD button. A timer will
count down as the process takes place.
10) Now you can press the OPEN/CLOSE button and remove the CD.

TO PLAY A CD:

1) Open the RIGHT CD drive and insert a CD for playback.
2) Press the Green PLAY button on the Right side to play it.
