Power on each Midline SAS Capacity Block. Ensure that all lights on the back of each capacity
block are green.

Power on each server.

Open a Linux command prompt and run sascheck on each server in the couplet. The output
should be similar to the following:
[root@r206s17 ~]# sascheck SUCCESS: The SAS cables are connected
and configured properly.
[root@r206s18 ~]# sascheck SUCCESS: The SAS cables are connected
and configured properly.
If the new Midline SAS Capacity Block was connected incorrectly, an error message displays
instead to help you locate the connection error. The following is an example:
[root@r206s18 ~]# sascheck
ERROR: Wrong Cabling or missing or failed component found in the
D6000 attached to the Controller in the PCI Slot 4.
Ensure that Port 1E of the Controller is connected to I/O Module
Slot A of the D6000(S/N USE312YNKH).
INFORMATION: Skipping validation of series starting Port 2E of the
Controller in the PCI Slot 4.
Ensure that Port 1E of the Controller is cabled properly to validate
Port 2E cabling of the Controller.
Check the /var/log/hp/platform/sascheck.log for more details.
[root@r206s17 ~]# sascheck
ERROR: Wrong Cabling or missing or failed component found in the
D6000 attached to the Controller in the PCI Slot 4.
Ensure that Port 2 of I/O Module Slot A of Drawer 2(S/N USE312YNKH)
of the D6000 is connected to Port 1E of the Controller in node 2.
ERROR: Wrong Cabling or missing or failed component found in the
D6000 attached to the Controller in the PCI Slot 4.
Ensure that Port 1 of I/O Module Slot B of Drawer 1(S/N USE312YNKH)
of the D6000 is connected to Port 2E of the Controller in node 2.
Check the /var/log/hp/platform/sascheck.log for more details.

8. Verify the LUNs from the new storage are visible by executing the following Linux command:
cat /proc/partitions/
To help you verify the LUNs, the following is an example of the command output before the
new storage is added:
