13 Problem Solving

Machine Trouble

If you think some trouble is occurring on the machine, check the machine status again.
Symptoms
Power is not
Is the power switch on the
switched On.
machine off?
Is the power cord plugged
into the power outlet?
Is the power cord
disconnected from the
machine or the rear of the
rack?
Is power of the correct
voltage being supplied?
Touch screen is
Is the <Power Saver>
dark.
button on?
Is the brightness dial set too
low?
unable to copy.
Is a message displayed on
the touch screen?
Is the power cord plugged
into the power outlet?
Printing is not
Is paper of the size
performed even
specified for printing loaded
though printing
on the tray?
was instructed
on Tray 5
(bypass).
Check
Turn the power switch on.
Refer to "Power On / Off" (P.39).
Turn the power switch off and then firmly
plug in the power cord. Then turn the
power switch on.
Refer to "Power On / Off" (P.39).
Make sure that the power supply is 200 V
(volts), 15 A (amperes) when one electric
cord is provided.
Make sure that power of capacity
compatible with the specified maximum
power consumption of the machine
(2.2kW) is being supplied.
The machine is in the Power Saver mode.
Press the <Power Saver> button on the
control panel to cancel the Power Saver
mode.
Refer to "Power Saver mode" (P.41).
Use the brightness dial to adjust display
brightness.
Refer to "Control panel" (P.45).
Follow the instructions displayed to solve
the problem.
Turn the power switch off and then firmly
plug in the power cord. Then turn the
power switch on.
Refer to "Power On / Off" (P.39).
Follow the instructions displayed to load
paper of correct size and instruct it to print
again.
Refer to "Loading Paper in the Tray 5
(Bypass)" (P.166).
